MARJORIE MINKIN BIO
Marjorie Minkin was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She lives and works in the Boston area and in the Eclipse Artists Mill in North Adams, MA. She received her Diploma, 5th Year Certificate and the Clarissa Bartlett Traveling Scholarship from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She received an M.A. in philosophy from Boston University with an emphasis on classical philosophy and aesthetics and a B.A. from Skidmore College in philosophy and studio art.
Minkin’s paintings and relief works have been exhibited throughout the US, and in Canada, Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Belgium) and South Korea. She was a guest resident of the Triangle Artists Workshop in NY in 1982 and The Emma Lake Artists’ Workshop in Canada in 1984. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Triangle Association, NYC.
Her work is in the permanent collection of several museums including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Flint Institute of Arts, Michigan, Etherington Art Center, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario and National Gallery of Prague. Her work is in the collection of many corporate and non-profit institutions including the Prudential National Collection, Wellesley College, Warner Communications, The Sheraton Corporation and the Faulkner Hospital, Boston. Her work is in private collections in the US, Canada, Brazil. Europe, South Korea, Australia and India.
